Abstract: In the 19th century, there occurred different praxis of bride price between two communities, the Greeks and the Albanians. Of these two communities, the Greeks paid the groom a sum named 'Drahoma', while the Albanians paid bride price to the bride. Bride price occasioned to various social circumstances in both the communities. The tradition of bride price led to the consequences of emigrating abroad and the increase of marriage age; on the contrary, among the Albanians, it led to as far consequences as blood revenges of which the family's honor was comprised. This condition occupied a large proportion of the 20thcentury in both communities.
THE IMPACT OF INTERNET BANKING SERVICES ON BANKING PERFORMANCE

Abstract: In recent years, the development of internet banking applications has gained momentum. The effect of this situation on bank performance is discussed. The aim of study in this context is to be able to reveal the effects of internet banking on bank performance from e-banking channels. The sample of the research is banks operating in Turkey and publishing internet-banking statistics. All data used in the research were obtained from the internet and mobile banking statistics published on the website of The Banks Association of Turkey. Quarterly data of an average of 26 banks are taken up for internet banking. 2007-2016 for internet banking are taken into consideration. Multiple linear regression method was used to determine the effect of internet banking activities on bank performance. In this direction, the transaction volume with the number of active users for internet banking and the total revenue and bank liquidity data as the bank performance indicator were utilized. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the number of active internet banking users and transaction volume are positively related to bank total revenue. Nevertheless, when the transaction volume of internet banking has positive effect on bank liquidity, there is no significant relationship with the number of active users

Abstract: A 50-year-old man, presented with sudden onset of right leg coldness, numbness and pain for 1.5 months. It was found that the right superficial femoral artery was thrombosed, which ended at the mid-thigh level and a continued as the popliteal artery in magnetic resonance angiography. Persistence of the sciatic artery is extremely rare vascular anomaly. It is prone to undergo early atherosclerotic changes, occlusive embolism, and aneurysm formation. In this article we report a patient with acute artery occlusion developed in popliteal and crural arteries in a patient with persistent sciatic artery which was successfully treated through surgical and endovascular intervention.

Abstract: Gaucher disease is an autosomal ressesive, lysosomal storage disease, characterized by glycosylcerebroside deposition in reticulo-endothelial cells, due to deficiency of lysosomal glucocerebrosidase. Enzyme and gene therapy are new curative therapies for gaucher disease and due to it’s rarity, we present a case report and reviewed the diasease.

Conjunctival impression cytology in patients with ectodermal dysplasia

Abstract: Ectodermal dysplasia is a group of symptoms affecting tissues and organs of ectodermal origin. In this study, conjunctival impression cytology technique which is a non-invasive method was performed in patients with ectodermal dysplasia to evaluate the affects on conjunctiva. Six eyes of three patients with ectodermal dysplasia who were followed up by the Ophthalmology Clinic of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine and Prosthetic Dentistry Departments were included in the study. Bulbar conjunctiva impression cytology method was applied to the upper surface of the bulbar conjunctiva and the cell groups taken to the surface of cellulose acetate paper were fixed by a solution containing 70% ethyl alcohol, 37% formaldehyde and glicial acetic acid with a ratio of 20:1:1 and later stained by periodic acid-schiff and haematoxylin-eosin. Using impression cytology method a decrease in integrity of the cells, picnotic changes in the nucleus, epithelial cell-like changes and loss of goblet cells were observed in patients with ectodermal dysplasia. The findings of eye dryness in patients with ectodermal dysplasia were supported by the impression cytology technique. Impression cytology can be used as a non-invasive method in ophthalmologic follow-up of patients with ectodermal dysplasia. (Turk Arch Ped 2012; 47: 69-72)
Analysis of Patients Applying to the Emergency Department with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and Relationship Seasonal Variation

Abstract: Objective: In this study, it was aimed to investigate epidemiological and clinical features and the seasonal changes in patients with subarachniod hemorrhage (SAH). Material and Methods: The history of 67 patients applying to the emergency department with primary SAH for 2 yearswas investigated retrospectively. Symptoms causing application; hour, month and season of application; accompaying diseases, screening methods, and vital findings of each patient were recorded.Results: Of 67 patients, 41 were men and 26 were female. The most frequent symptoms on admission were headache and confusion (41.1%). Among thedisorders accompanying SAH, hypertention ranked the first (35.81%). While 30 of all cases applied between 06 and 12 o’clock (p<0.05), the highest application rates were in Autumun with 24 cases (p>0.05). Brain CT was within normal limits in 6 patients, and cerebrospinal fluid readings were hemorrhagic in all patients on performing lumbar puncture.Conclusion: We did not find any significant statistical relation between seasonal variation and SAH. We found a significant statistical relation between morning hours and SAH. SAH is a serious condition with high mortality. Early screening is signicant during the first 24-hour period. The regulation of BP, especially in patients with hypertension, is very important. In patients applying to emergency departments with the complaints of severe headache and confusion, SAH should be taken into cosideration.
